Covering Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex & Cambridgeshire

Welcome

I’m Jaz, a Doula & Birthworker.

It is my privilege to provide a holistic and grounded approach to supporting women and their families in their journey of pregnancy, motherhood and postpartum.

I am a passionate advocate for physiological birth, honouring a woman from the sideline as she transcends into labour to birth her baby. Holding the space, supporting the birth partner too, knowing when baby arrives mum and baby can land back into the room in their own time, undisturbed, giving both her and her baby an optimal start to their new chapter.

As a doula, I have attended freebirth, homebirth and Midwife-Led Unit births, interestingly all of my clients have been labelled High-Risk, however I believe it is up to the individual to determine how they feel about the label and what the associations with it are, as well as weighing up the risks of it. I work with my clients during pregnancy, to get the birth experience they desire even with a high risk label.

It’s never too soon to start investing in your baby & your birth experience.

I will not ever give medical or legal advice.

Discreet & Confidential Doula Support

I have experience in previous roles working with high-profile clients, I understand that discreet and private support is essential, even more so when navigating such a personal life experience.

Combining my skills I am able to provide an effortless confidential doula service, although I have readily available packages, I understand you may require something bespoke, if this is the case lets chat and I can provide a quote for the specific services you require.

What my clients say…

Jaz made all the difference! I was 44 when I got pregnant with a surprise baby. Life was overwhelming and though I was perfectly fit and healthy, it felt like there was a lot of focus on me from the NHS being a supposedly “high risk” case. Every meeting with another consultant/ midwife stripped my confidence. I wanted to have a home birth but I kept being discouraged from it. Five months into my pregnancy I also had a sledding accident and fractured my coccyx.

This added to my feeling vulnerable. After having a mental breakdown and nearly ending up in psychiatric care, we started to look for a doula. I needed an ADVOCATE! I consulted with a few doulas and decided on Jaz.

Jaz was fantastic. So calm, gentle yet confident and assertive. She listened without her own agenda. And what she heard me say, is that what I really wanted was to FreeBirth. Jaz communicated with us, to the NHS. She guided both my husband and I through our previous birth trauma and, once we had a clear and concise birth plan, calm was restored. For the first time in months, I could relax and focus on my baby. We cancelled all further appointments with health care professionals.

On the night of the birth I started having surges at midnight and contacted Jaz at around 1:00. On arrival she asked my husband about my progress but, hearing me upstairs she quickly came up and was just in time. She quickly and quietly organised everyone. (Our 6 year old son was even able cut his brothers umbilical cord!) We had the most amazing birthing experience. Jaz waited with us for the midwives to come in order to record the baby’s birth. No interventions, no fussing from strangers. Jaz protected the space for us to follow our instincts and do what we needed to do in the way we needed to do it.

Jazz was amazing! I would not have got the birth I wanted without her support. Going through pregnancy alone after a brutal breakup was so stressful, and having someone in my corner was everything. This was even more true during Labour, she had my back at every turn, and was my voice when I wasn’t able to advocate for myself. So much so, when things went wrong with the pool - I didn’t even know until the last second, it was handled quietly and efficiently to allow me to stay in the zone, and baby came about ten minutes later. Cannot thank her enough for giving me back this experience, after my first birth was so traumatic. I got everything I could have hoped for ❤️
